PRE-CONTRACT INFORMATION FORM
Last Updated: October 25, 2026
This form is provided under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Contracts Regulation to inform the consumer before the distance sales agreement is formed.
Confirming this form on the payment page records that the consumer was informed, before the agreement was formed, of the service, its total price, payment, performance and withdrawal terms.
1. Seller Information
2. Main Characteristics of the Service
The service is the education programme selected on the payment page (Foundation Training, Youth Development, Tournament Performance Development or National Team) for the selected duration (1, 3, 6 or 12 months). Monthly group-lesson hours, practice tournaments, calculation lessons, one-to-one coaching and tournament game analysis are listed under “What’s included” on the payment page.
Lessons are live and online; there is no physical product or shipping. A monthly progress report and student-portal access are part of every programme.
3. Total Price and Payment
- The total price includes VAT and is shown in the Order Summary before payment. The applicable price is the one shown at the time of purchase.
- The 3-, 6- and 12-month options carry a 10%, 15% and 20% duration discount respectively against the monthly price. Any coupon is shown separately.
- The full price of the selected duration is charged once. Nothing renews or is charged automatically.
- Payment is made by debit or credit card through iyzico with 3D Secure. Mergen Chess never sees or stores card details.
- Instalment options depend on the card issuer and are shown in the payment form.
4. Formation and Performance
The agreement is formed electronically when payment is verified. The payment confirmation and a link to book the level assessment are sent to the parent’s email address.
After payment a level assessment is scheduled to place the student in a group. The start date of the selected duration is communicated according to that group’s timetable, together with lesson links and portal access.
5. Right of Withdrawal
As a rule, the consumer has a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Distance Contracts Regulation. However, the services offered on the platform are digital content and services performed instantly in electronic form within the scope of Article 48/7 of Law No. 6502 and Article 15/1(ğ) and (h) of the Distance Contracts Regulation.
By ticking the relevant box on the payment page and completing payment, the consumer expressly consents to performance beginning before the withdrawal period ends. The right of withdrawal therefore cannot be exercised once performance has begun after payment (scheduling the level assessment, placement in a lesson group or student-portal access).
If the service cannot be provided at all (for example, the level assessment or group placement cannot take place, or lessons cannot start, for reasons on Mergen Chess’s side), the consumer may request a full refund. Details are set out in the Refund Policy.
6. Refunds
In the cases set out in the Refund Policy, the approved amount is refunded to the card used, free of charge, within 14 days at the latest.
7. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
The consumer may first contact Mergen Chess through the channels below. Unresolved disputes may be brought, within the monetary limits set by the Ministry of Trade, before the Consumer Arbitration Committee or Consumer Court where the consumer resides or where the transaction took place.
This form is read together with the Distance Sales Agreement, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Notice.
